Run a productive critter ranch
The ranch calculator covers the full critter economy: how much food a herd eats, eggs and meat per cycle, byproducts from shearing and milking, egg morphs, ranch capacity, and the happiness that drives fertility. It models grooming, the Critter Fountain and Critter Condo stacking — and the overcrowding mechanic that caps a ranch — straight from the live game, so it handles cases older calculators can't.
Browse every critter on the critters page, grow their feed in the farm calculator, or turn eggs and meat into rations with the food calculator. Current with every DLC, including the Aquatic Planet Pack.
Ranch calculator FAQ
- How many critters fit in a ranch in Oxygen Not Included?
- A 96-tile ranch holds 8 critters of most types before the Overcrowded penalty. Because grooming, a Critter Fountain and a Critter Condo add happiness that offsets overcrowding, you can run more when eggs are auto-collected — the calculator shows both the base and extended capacity, derived from the live game.
- How many eggs and how much meat will my critters produce?
- Set the critter and herd size (or solve for a target rate) and the calculator gives eggs per cycle, meat, shells/lime from cracking surplus eggs, and byproducts like Plastic from shearing or milk — all amortized over the critter lifespan like the in-game numbers.
- Does grooming and the Critter Fountain affect fertility?
- Yes. Happiness from grooming (+5), a Critter Fountain (+5) and a Critter Condo (+1) stack and multiply fertility (happiness × 2.25), exactly as in the live game including the Aquatic Planet Pack — something older calculators predate.
